On the 12th January 2019, I will be accompanying Just Shelter to France to deliver donations and continue documenting the landscape where people have been abandoned to live in fields. Last time we were there, we were reminded by volunteers and those living there that the police regularly slash tents and confiscate belongings, move people on, sometimes taking them miles in coaches only to bring them back to where they started at the end of the day. Since everything they owned would have been destroyed at the beginning of this distressing process, people are left to wait for volunteers to distribute the basics they will need once again.
Therefore, Just Shelter will be collecting the following items:
INSIDE A RUCKSACK IF POSSIBLE:
– SNUG packs (Socks, Neckwarmer, Underwear, Gloves) for men sizes small and medium
– Hygiene kits – toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, razor etc..Additional items (separate from rucksack)
– sleeping bags and blankets
– Sturdy shoes sizes 40,41,42 men’s
Drop off AFTER 6th January at 8 Trewint Street, Wandsworth.
If you are interested in volunteering or donating please contact Just Shelter directly.
